The world is not right today.

Three topics bothered me today.

1. Anti-immigration legislation in Arizona. The Arizona governor just signed into law a bill that allows local police to essentially act as an immigration control officer. Local police can now stop anyone suspected of being an illegal immigrant, solely based on the officers judgement. I haven't had much interaction with law enforcement but the one time I've been questioned directly from a police officer had questionable reasoning. This legislation is basically legalizing a witch hunt.

2. Water cooler coversation at work. Post the daily 3AM basketball session at work was a small gathering around the water cooler. Topic being drunk driving crashes. A co-worker was involved in a roll over caused by a drunk driver a month ago with his family in the car, messed up. 2nd co-worker comes back with how he saw a drunk driver collide with the car in front of him that his parents were driving resulting in their death. The numbness the 2nd coworker had towards the event was sobering.

3. Decided to read a Cosmo left in the gym after basketball. I guess it was mainly funny that someone actually writes the subject matter. I sure got some weird looks while holding the magazine after basketball though.

Topics #1 and #2 really got to me, I just threw #3 for some weak comic relief. Blazers won. Its my weekend. Supposed to be a BBQ tomorrow if I wake up for it. See you Oregonians on May 15th.
