I Recommend: the Kasper Hauser Podcast
The problem with trying to make a brief recommendation about some comedy to enjoy is that so many of the great funny people and things out there bleed over into each other and then it ends up being rambling and not at all useful to the person who is the recommend-ee (I'm trying to use the word "recommend" more because I always spell it wrong). So here's a nutshell of a nugget, the Kasper Hauser Podcast.
I know the idea and amount of podcasts can be overwhelming/annoying. This is the first one I ever heard. The best things about this: there aren't that many episodes (like 30?); episodes are between 3 and 5 minutes long; it is often downright hilarious.
Kasper Hauser is based out of San Francisco and broadcast on the Maximumfun.org podcast network. You can learn more on their website or on the Max fun site. The episodes are sketch based and I assume largely if not entirely improvised. I will not tell you that every single one is funny. I will tell you my favorites and provide links to them.
- Phone Call to the 14th Century
- Blaine Cardoza: Vice-President of your Own Life
- Spicy Pony Head
- Mundo De Perros
If you listen to the four of these, and do not enjoy, this podcast (and probably sketch based comedy) is not for you. Don't worry, there is comedy for every stripe and taste, so don't be discouraged.
If you listen to the four of these and want MORE, subscribe (for free!) in iTunes and listen to the Wedding Announcement series and then the rest as you see fit. Some of them are videos!
