    Firstly, I should make a statement so that people don't get the wrong idea:

    I strongly agree with the efforts of our country and other international support to help those who were effected by the Haiti earthquake(s).

    Now, I've noticed that there's been some heavy decision-making going on in our country, namely over the issue of socialized healthcare. And I have a simple question to ask:

    Why is it that when another country is afflicted with lacking medical services, that aiding them is the humanitarian thing to to (with our tax dollars), but when the idea is proposed that we should use tax dollars to create a free healthcare system for our own citizens, then that person is persecuted as being a socialist and a communist, as if it's an evil idea?? (The devastation of New Orleans also being a prime example of our lack of caring for our own citizens).
