    A Novel Idea

Let's write a book!  If we all pitch in and write a few segments of it, it will be fucking awesome, and we can get it published at Kinko's and sell it on the site.  Who doesn't want to be a part of something like that?

This all stemmed out of National Novel Writing Month (this month) last year, when Nathan and I were going to write a book and didn't.  Now its this month again, but I think if we put our minds together we can really write a kickass thing that will be fun for everyone to look back on.  Also it could spread the word about the site.  It doesn't have to be much, just a lot of short bullshit that we can put together however we want. Just throw a Chapter number and a Title on it and we're good to go!

Chapter 2: Matt writes a short story E-mail

I told myself I wasn't going to write a novel this year.  Two days into last year's novel, I developed a sort of writer's block that they don't tell you about in the movies.  There I was, sitting in Noah's basement, hot laptop slowly irradiating all of my organs as I typed a word, deleted a word.  Typed a word, deleted a word.  Deleted the word before it. Deleted the whole sentence.  Typed a word.  I understand that sometimes you have to take two steps back to take three steps forward, but after half an hour I had walked backward so far that I could see myself coming from the other direction.  And not in the good quantum physics sort of way.

So it is with much chagrin that I sit here slowly melting all of my future children, doing my best to walk sideways, if not forward.

That last story is an example of what the whole book would have been like if I tried to write a real novel.  I know nothing about literature, have no story in mind, and generally am incompetent when it comes to sentence structure and vocabulary.  Yet I trudge on?
